New Music Sunday: June 29 2014

Two Sundays ago it was father’s day and the boys over in Paradise Fears decided to release the song “Stories In The Dark” which lead singer Sam Miller says, “everything i know about myself, i know because of the stories my dad told me when i was a kid.” This song really shares the emotion that Sam has when he reminisces about the stories he used to hear from his own father. The guys released this song for free download so their fans could share it with their special story tellers in their lives. It was made clear that it is not only for fathers. Everyone has a special storyteller be it a relative, friend, caregiver. I personally shared this video with my father because he used to read me stories when I was younger and introduced me to the whole world of music.

Head on over to soundcloud to check out the song and snag a download if you like what you hear! I hope you enjoy

Music Video Monday: the Colourist- Little Games (2013- Universal Republic Records)

This video makes me feel

So in 5 days, this band will be opening up for Panic! at the Show Risa and I are going to. I had never heard of them until a few weeks ago. We looked them up on itunes, listened to this song and I literally have been hooked. It has the catchy rhythm and I love the vocals. Overall, it is one of those tracks that makes me want to get up and dance. I can’t wait to see them live and look forward to a review then!

Check out the Colourist on twitter, facebook and youtube!

Acoustic Wednesday: All Time Low- Damned if I Do Ya (Damned If I Don’t)

All Time Low is always one of those go to bands, I listen to them in any mood. They have a song for when I’m happy, sad or when I feel like pushing assholes down the stairs. Check out this acoustic version they did for Alter The Press! Also is it just me or is Alex about to lose his pants?

The Years- Casualties

I saw this band on my 20th birthday at a small bar venue in Toronto last year and they were so great. I just love their whole Red Wine and Clarity album (which you can download for free on facebook). I love their acoustic rock sound on their album and I think that these guys have so much potential. They are all so talented and dedicated, they interact with their fans on twitter and like I said in a previous post, I find to be an important aspect of the music industry today.

What else to say about these guys? I don’t even know how to express my love for their music, check it out for yourself and let me know what you think!

Hit them up on Twitter & Facebook

Keep an eye out for tomorrows Music Video Monday!
